Welcome to Webelos Den

4th Grade

Den Leader

Our Goals  Webelos is a 20 month program for 4th and 5th grade boys to prepare to join a Boy Scout troop while learning outdoor skills and participating in 20 different activity badges. A well-run group of Webelos is a gradual change from being an 'adult-run' den to being a 'boy-run' patrol ready to fit right into an adventurous scouting troop.

Summary The Webelos program has two major milestones - the Webelos rank badge to be earned at the 4th grade level and the Arrow of Light to be earned at the 5th grade. The final part of Webelos is bridging over into a Boy Scout troop selected individually by the scout.

Is your Fourth Grader thinking about Scouts?
Then you probably have some questions...

What the Webelos  are "Doing"...
  • Den Meeting April 21, 2015

This evening we will switching back to the scientist achievement since the weather is not as warm to go outside.  The boys will be observing a demonstration about how fog is created and learn about what causes it.  Next, they will learn about how crystals are formed and together we will growing sugar crystals.  The crystals will take about a week to grow but this will build to the anticipation of what they will look like!

Now that the weather has turned it’s time to get outside!  This evening we will be heading to Canal Park to do a conservation project.  Canal park is a beautiful park with a lake and lots of wildlife, so let’s lend a hand and help clean up the park.  We also be covering Leave No Trace Frontcountry Guidelines which will be very relevant to our outing since we will be picking up garbage in the park.
