Tonight we will be finishing on Art Explosion. The scouts will be using clay to sculpt a simple form.  After they’ve completed their sculpture, we will transition into the Engineer Adventure and complete it over the next two meetings. As part of this adventure, they will learn what one type of Engineer does by performing research. They will learn about blue prints, create blue prints for their own project, and then complete their project. Finally, they will explore the various fields of Engineering and how they’ve helped us from our past, present, and future.

Home Assignment:  None this week.

Reminder:  The Pinewood Derby is on April 6th. Now is a great time to start building your cars.

We have completed all required adventures in our den meeting for the boys to reach the Webelos badge (only home assignments remain). During this den meeting, the boys will review the elective adventures and decide which ones they would like to complete in the remaining den meetings. Their involvement in this planning activity will help them prepare for Boy Scouts as their meetings are led by the boys. We will also be completing Art Explosion Adventure 3e by creating a kirigami project, giant snowflakes.

Home Assignment:  All den meetings to finish the Webelos Badge requirements have been completed. The remainder of the uncompleted requirements consist of prior home assignments and activities with Akelas. The boys have roughly 84% of their requirements completed for the badge. Please log into scoutbook.com to see what items remain for your scout and work to complete these by the end of January.

Reminder:  None this week.
