Parent Letter October 4th Meeting
Today for our first Den Meeting of the Scout year, we ran through a review of the Bobcat Trail as a refresher to all, and as an introduction to Scouting for our new Wolf Cub friends. We learned once again the Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack. We remind each other that what we learn in Scouting, our motto is to DO YOUR BEST, no matter what it is we are doing in or outside of Scouting! We also remember what the term “Webelos” means....We Be Loyal Scouts . We refreshed and relearned the Cub Scout salute and handshake and the Cub Scout sign.
Our activities tonight largely centered on getting together again as a group and refocusing ourselves to the activities in the upcoming Scouting year. We ask that at home you look through the Character Connection for Honesty with your Scout in your Wolf handbook and know what it really means to “Do your best”, and to “Keep your word”. As your Scout’s Akela’s you play the ultimate roll in your Scout’s success in his journey. Please review your handbook, there are probably things that you already covered as a family....please sign and date them. We will check them periodically for updates. We want to see used and well read/worn books!
In addition tonight, we began our requirements for Elective 9b- Make a Gift and Elective 12e- Make a stencil pattern (for our den flag) . We may have also run through our Space Derby launches if everything was set up accordingly and time permitting. If not, our Wolves can look forward to that in an upcoming meeting.
Home activity- please complete Acheivement 8b-e and read How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.
